Nue in April 2025: What to Know
The Nue Team
This update centers around new features and renewal enhancements that will help you grow revenue.
Key highlights include Nue Payment Links to collect payments using the Nue platform, a whole slew of renewal enhancements for better control and accuracy, and a few other enhancements that make Nue easier to use.
With Nue Payment Links, your customers can now pay invoices directly through Nue Billing. Once an invoice is activated, a Stripe-powered payment link is automatically embedded, so you can start collecting payments without additional setup.
Use Case:
- Automatically embed a payment link in your invoices to make it easy for customers to pay.
- See payment receipts and payment methods for each customer inside Nue.
- Reissue payment links and receipts as needed. This feature is integrated with other Nue collections features like payment/refund processing and credit memos.
Who Benefits?
- Finance: streamline collections and simplify your stack by managing payment links directly within Nue.
- RevOps Managers: generate payment links as part of the same platform, giving them less to manage.
Building payment links into the Nue platform allows you to have more of your revenue process in one place while reducing the workload of collecting payments from customers
Price adjustments over time are standard practice, so we’ve made it easier to automate. You can now set company-wide default price uplifts for renewals. Apply it across the board, or use filters to get more targeted by customer attributes or related objects.
Use Case:
- Let’s say your business uses a 10% renewal uplift for all subscriptions except for a subset of legacy customers from before 2020. With this new feature, you can configure a system-level price tag that adds a 10% uplift on renewal. You can then use a filter to have it automatically apply only to customers from 2020 or later.
Who Benefits?
- Finance: ensure revenue is being driven on renewal by applying the uplift automatically
- RevOps Managers: automate another part of the renewal workflow for your sellers
- Sales Representatives: save time on renewals while minimizing the risk of human error
Automating a standard process like renewal uplift across your organization saves you time, minimizes human error and increases revenue. Make sure you get an uplift on every renewal from now on.
Large account hierarchies can make it hard to handle customer changes.
At best, it makes for extra clicks and scrolling. At worst, it leads to mistakes when a seller clicks on the wrong account in the hierarchy when making a change.
Now, in Lifecycle Manager, when you click into an account that’s part of a hierarchy, the default view will be scoped to just the transactions for that account. You can toggle to see the full hierarchy if needed.
Use Case:
- You sell to a school board that has 12 different schools as child accounts. You want to change a subscription for just one school. Now, when you view the transactions in Lifecycle Manager, you only see the transactions for that child account rather than the full hierarchy.
Who Benefits?
- Sales Representatives: avoid accidentally making changes to the wrong account, while making it easier to see and act only on the transactions that you want to change
- Finance: minimizing human error reduces risk to revenue
- RevOps Managers: give sellers a better experience when managing customer lifecycles
Our goal is to provide simplicity and efficiency while preserving optionality for users. By defaulting to a focused view, your experience gets easier. The toggle keeps the option available if you want to see the whole hierarchy.
In this release, the renewal experience has been enhanced to help you use renewals to generate new revenue.
Separate renewal orders by subscription
By default, subscription renewals with matching end dates are grouped into a single order. We’ve now added the option to separate them into individual orders. This will help you provide granularity and reporting for customers if needed.
Link renewal opportunity to subscription
When creating a subscription, you now have the option to connect it to a future renewal opportunity using the Renewal Opportunity. This will help forecast revenue from renewals.
Control over finalizing auto-renewals
On top of finalizing auto-renewal quotes into orders manually, you can now automatically do so based on the status of the quote, or whether it’s a Primary quote. Whether you want to use this to build efficiency or avoid mistakes, this feature will help you drive revenue faster using renewals.
Carry over pricing and discounts
On renewal (or on any other subscription change), you can now enable the option to carry over price and discount tags from the original subscription instead of just the net sales price (this includes discretionary discounts). Giving sellers visibility into the original subscription’s tags allows them to make the necessary adjustments on renewal and capture revenue opportunities.
Renewals can be a key revenue driver for a business, instead of just a box to check. These enhancements for Lifecycle Manager provide more control over how renewals are handled to help your team generate more revenue from repeat business.
Here are some other key additions in this release.
Template builder enhancements
We’ve added new components to the template builder so you can build better documents.
Multi-company VAT (Avalara integration)
For our Avalara integration, we now support multi-company value-added tax (VAT) for AvaTax. This is important for companies that operate in various European countries with different tax requirements.
