Today, we’re launching a new integration with Sphere to provide out-of-the-box support for global tax compliance.

Sphere is the only AI-native tax engine, delivering end-to-end compliance automation for sales tax, VAT, and GST. They’re seeing adoption from some of the world’s fastest-growing SaaS and AI companies, and unsurprisingly, that means working with many Nue customers.

When we sat down with the Sphere team to map out the integration, it became clear that this would be a powerful partnership. Sphere’s mission aligns with ours: to fuel the growth of the world’s fastest-scaling SaaS and AI companies.

In B2B SaaS, global expansion is a natural step for scaling companies. With this expansion comes tax complexity that gets harder to manage with every new jurisdiction and every change in tax regulations. Sphere does the heavy lifting for you so you can focus on growth and can trust that you’re complying with every tax regulation.

Like our other integrations, we built the Sphere integration to work out of the box with minimal setup and maintenance effort. 

Sphere is your single source of truth for tax codes and compliance. You manage all tax codes centrally in Sphere, mapping them to your products and applying the right rules for every jurisdiction. Sphere handles the compliance logic: calculating the correct tax amount for sales tax, VAT, and GST anywhere in the world, pulling invoices and credit memos from Nue to manage tax filing accurately and on time.

Nue controls product configuration. Within Nue, you configure the tax mode for each product and ensure your product catalog is set up correctly so that when Sphere pulls product data, it maps cleanly and allows you to map the right tax codes in Sphere. This keeps your revenue workflows and tax compliance in sync without manual reconciliation.

Nue also manages customer tax exemptions and Tax IDs. For customers who are tax exempt, you mark them as such directly in Nue and capture their Tax ID. That information is passed through to Sphere automatically, so exempt customers are never charged tax incorrectly, and your records stay clean for compliance purposes.

Setting up the integration is straightforward. You configure the Nue Billing integration in Sphere, then connect the Sphere integration in Nue using your Sphere API Key and activate. From there, Nue calls Sphere in real time as transactions are created, automatically applying the correct tax calculation for the relevant location, anywhere in the world. The same calculation logic gets applied across quoting, amendments, self-serve, and billing, so amounts always match. Sellers see live tax calculations and exemptions on quotes and orders, so they know exactly what customers will pay before a deal closes.

By managing tax codes centrally in Sphere, you get a single source of truth for tax calculations and compliance. The real-time integration means every transaction gets the correct amount, ensuring your customers know exactly what they will pay. Nue’s powerful quote-to-revenue engine ensures that every amendment, credit memo, and invoice is correct.
